  • Mad Max: Fury Road plays after Thunderdome (its not a Prequel or Sequel or Reboot) and its just "The Mad Max"-universe in a new "look" to make it more indipendent from the old movies, right ?

      Loading editor
    • Yes.

Fury Road employed a new actor so they created a new timeline in the comic books that put Tom Hardy in all original Mad Max movies. It also made the apocalypse start not in the 80's but in 2010's. According to the comic books: the first 3 movies play out as they were, but with Tom Hardy in them. Then they show Max's story between Thunderdome and Fury Road.

This is how they tied in Fury Road with the original series.

  • Taipan.

In regards to me editing the Mad Max vehicle listing of the Ballistic.

I do have good information on this vehicle.

    1/ I designed & built it.

2/ A friend, Aaron who owns, (with his father) the "Stress factor" monster truck used in the movie, helped fit the Holden body to the Ballistic. During that process he was in communication with us at The Edge Products as to what was going on at the Broken Hill workshop & the work they were undertaking. The car did not handle well as as soon as they removed the rear wheels & fitting wheels with different offset & diameter the car did not handle very well. The original twin wheels were manufactured more precise than any Mag wheel you will find. When we made them we had a jig with the wheel mounted on a wheel hub & stub axle. After every tack weld when positioning the spokes the rim was spun on the jig & checked with a DTI. When the rims went out to have tyres fitted the tyre installer commented they hardly needed balancing as the ran so true. So, it's very possible if the rims were shaking or causing problems they were in fact damaged. The new owner in Canberra who loaned the Ballistic to the production company had not maintained the car which was obvious from the excess rust on the chassis & it's poor condition. What else was wrong with it due to a lack of servicing is anyones guess. But when Steve Alford owned the Ballistic it was an impressive performer & handled like a dream.

I have simply edited the listing so it do not appear as though the actual buggy was at fault, it was a great design & performed exceptionally well at high speed offroad.

I never received an indication of that there were issues with the car from Aaron.

No disrespect, just trying to maintain accuracy & to be fair.

    regards,

    Tony.

    • Hello Tony!

Thank you for your information! Your initial edit was changed simply for the fact that there were no references for the information you provided. As you can understand, anyone can come in and edit pages with all sorts of factual and non factual information, but we tend to rely on facts that can be backed.

The original info about the wheels on the Ballistic Buggy came from Andrew Rickard, one of the mechanics working on cars for Fury Road, that's why it was included. No disrespect was meant on Wiki's side either, we merely include information that came up.

We've also taken into account your part of the story and your edit will remain, furthermore, feel free to post more information on the Ballistic Buggy with the Holden body, especially if you have any pictures of it. As far as I'm concerned there is only one picture of the buggy (as seen on the vehicles page), so if you have any pictures from its time on Fury Road, that would be greatly appreciated.

  • WTF it is a autogyro not a gyrocopter. Gyrocopters are like V-22 Ospreys. Autogyros are like Benson B-8s,
